Make Me Cry
|
I came by your house today knowing that you were away
I sat there all alone, this used to be my home
Though we never worked things out bits of me were still about
My picture on the fridge, hanging with the kids
In some long forgotten place with a magnet there to hide my face
I cry lately when you lie and say you hate me
We had love I can't begin to understand what it's turned into
Why do you make me cry
I saw you in the restaurant that used to be our favorite haunt
I went to reminisce you were bent to place a kiss
On lips that took the place of mine, but only when you'd caught my eye
Then all you said was hi until the two of you walked by
But to be sure my heart aches you whispered that guy was my worst mistake
I Cry lately when you lie and say you hate me
We had love I can't begin to understand what it's turned into
Why do you make me cry
After years together I wonder whether
I can make it on my own
The nights grow colder as I grow older
I never thought at this point I might be alone
Your heat is like a Texas rain just wait awhile it's gonna change
I'm hoping that's a fact you might change and want me back
Until then I'll be right here just waiting for your clouds to clear
I Cry lately when you lie and say you hate me
We had love I can't begin to understand what it's turned into
Why do you make me cry
