I could feel rain on the wind
Before the first drops began to fall
The baked hard earth was opening up
In anticipation of it all
It's such a country thing
I could just tell I could smell
Rain on the wind before the first drops
I could feel electricity in the air
Before lightning cracked open the sky
Just like I remember
Big fat drops and flashes of light
Before the summer sun
Chased the clouds away
Chased the clouds away until the day
Just like it always was
